We have set up key partnerships with Mercator Ocean International and the Blue World Institute and has now the support of Romain Pilliard, our godfather, a skipper who is dedicated to the promotion of the circular economy.

⚞ Our mission

Our objective Is to raise the awareness of children and civil society on the crucial role our ocean plays for our planet. To do so, CFTO has created a community of young actors dedicated to the protection of our ocean in their daily life.

➚ Our actions

Recruit young ocean ambassadors, organize worldwide awareness sessions to increase our youth community, set up partnerships with NGOs, and scientific organisations to create synergies for the protection of the ocean, attend international events to represent global youth.

CFTO creates some pedagogical tools to help children become aware of the importance of our ocean, providing key figures on the ocean and tips on how we should protect it.

Children for the oceans was founded in 2018, just after its co-founder Thomas Lesage completed a worldwide sailing tour to promote the protection of the ocean among the youth.

L’objectif de ce projet est de sensibiliser la jeunesse à l’importance des récifs et de souligner la menace majeure que constitue l’acidification pour nos coraux et nos océans.
Les ambassadeurs animeront des sessions de sensibilisation dans les écoles d’Océanie et s’associeront à d’autres ONG pour avoir un impact encore plus important!

Session de sensibilisation à San Sebastián 🌆 24/10/2023
Un ambassadeur de cfto a eu la chance d'être invité par l'école St Patrick, San Sebastián et a pu donné une session de sensibilisation devant 200 élèves. Notre ambassadeur de Toulouse a fait le voyage en train jusqu'à la ville côtière espagnole afin de sensibiliser les élèves à la protection des océans. Il a abordé plusieurs menaces et a réussi à interagir avec les 200 étudiants espagnols pour parler des solutions et des actions à entreprendre au quotidien

Awareness Session in San Sebastián 🌆 24/10/2023
One cfto ambassador had the chance to be invited by St Patrick’s School, San Sebastián and gave an awareness session in front of 200 students. Our ambassador from Toulouse made the trip by train to the Spanish coastal city in order to raise awareness on the protection of the ocean. He addressed several threats and managed to interact with the 200 Spanish students to talk about solutions and actions to take on a daily basis.

Josephine, 15 years old, has managed to gather up local sponsors in order to clean our polluted ocean. Je m'appelle Yuma, j'ai 18 ans. J'ai toujours aimé être dans la nature et sa protection a une grande importance pour moi. J'aime beaucoup les sports nautiques, j'ai fait de la planche à voile et du catamaran assez jeune, j'ai donc naturellement été sensibilisée à la protection de l'océan et à l'impact que l'homme a sur lui. Éclaireuse de la nature depuis 2 ans j’ai pu approfondir mon rapport à la nature et à apprendre à transmettre mon envie et mes raisons de la protéger. Devenir une ambassadrice de Children for the Oceans est donc pour moi un moyen de continuer à essayer de faire changer les choses en sensibilisant les enfants pour qu’ils puissent à leur tour essayer d’améliorer l’impact de l’homme sur l’Océan et sur la nature dans son intégralité.

En effet, nous avons eu la chance d’être au côté d’une classe de troisième de Toulouse. Tout au long de l’année nos ambassadeurs ont pu réaliser trois sessions de sensibilisation et participer au voyage scolaire de fin d’année avec pour thème : la pollution plastique (ramassage de plage). Merci pour la confiance accordée par l’équipe pédagogique du Lycee International Victor Hugo de Colomiers.(@vhofficielcolomiers)
L’éducation est un des moyens clés pour changer le monde et conduire la jeune génération à établir un nouveau lien avec la nature, en la considérant comme étroitement connecté au devenir de l’homme. Des jeunes qui sensibilisent d’autres jeunes, c’est le concept de Children for the Oceans et sa contribution a ce changement.

In fact, we were lucky enough to be working alongside a class of ninth graders from Toulouse. Throughout the year, our ambassadors were able to carry out three awareness sessions and take part in the end-of-year school trip on the theme of plastic pollution (beach clean-up🏖️). Nos océans, sa faune et sa flore marine sont menacés par la pollution plastique. Les conséquences sont dévastatrice pour chaque espèce sur terre. Et oui! Les humains aussi sont en premier rang. *L’équivalent d’une carte bleue ingérée par nous tous CHAQUE SEMAINE*.
C’est ainsi que Children for the Oceans appelle à l’action. Chacun d’entre vous peut agir à son échelle. Qu’il soit en France ou à l’autre bout de la planète toute personne doit se sentir concernée par cette menace grandissante.

Children for the océans est tres heureux de faire partie du jury qui sélectionnera les meilleurs dessins aux côtés de Catherine Chabaud, navigatrice et députée européenne et d’autres personnalités engagées pour la décarbonations du maritime. Le secteur maritime représente près de 3 % des émissions globales. Il est urgent de commencer à decarboner le secteur maritime. Le vent constitue une source d’énergie gratuite illimitée qui doit être utilisée pour cet objectif.

Children for the oceans is delighted to be part of the jury that will select the best drawings, alongside Catherine Chabaud, sailor and Member of the European Parliament, and other personalities committed to decarbonising the maritime sector. The maritime sector accounts for almost 3% of global emissions. We urgently need to start decarbonising the maritime sector. Wind is an unlimited source of free energy that must be used for this purpose.

Morgane and Marin gave an awareness session on Monday to the students from @vhofficielcolomiers lycee VictorHugo located in Colomiers (France). They stressed the threat of overfishing, underlining that a massive 30% of fishing is illegal, undocumented and unregulated. We can act as a consumer in selecting our fish and decide to reduce our consumption of fish in our daily life.
